Southern Australia put on some perfect April weather with bright blue skies and a light 5-10 knots southerly wind to greet competitors as they arrived for Stop #4 of the Australian N1SCO Tour.

The N1SCO event had more than enough Naish ONE Inflatable stand up paddle boards ready to be raced, which allowed for quick changeovers between heats. The racing was tight in the Men’s 200m and 400m races with an “anything goes” attitude to blocking, drafting, paddles pushing boards and any other way of getting the advantage over your competitors. It was great fun! There were some interesting dismounts with some competitors crossing the finish line with someone else’s board and a new way of paddling tandem-style was even invented!

Then it was time for the Ladies event, which was once again, very fun and interesting with lots of tactics and most importantly, plenty of laughs. After the first heat, the 200m final was a reverse order start giving a few meters head start on some of the newer girls to the racing scene. Although this made the finish a lot closer, the seasoned racers came through the pack and got to the front just before the Finish Line.

This N1SCO event was also combined with WindSup’s “Round the Island” Race, allowing competitors the opportunity to pace themselves against one another on the Inflatable Naish ONE 12’6” SUP boards, enjoy a BBQ lunch and then take on the 6 km Distance Race around the island.

Well done to all the Adelaide locals and those that traveled from near and far to be a part of this event.
