The 2013 N1SCO SUP European Championships were a massive success this past weekend at beautiful St. Moritz Lake in Switzerland. Participants from all over the world lined up to join in on the plethora of sprint, distance and team relay races using the Naish One Inflatable SUP boards, all in hopes of winning a trip to the upcoming N1SCO World Championship event at Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, Nevada.

Robby Naish officially kicked off the event and even joined in on the festivities in the Team Sprint races while Brian “de action man” Talma brought his warm beach culture all the way from Barbados to chilly Switzerland.

Congratulations to Ethan Koopmans who flew all the way from South Africa to win the sprint, intermediate and long distance races, crowning him the overall champion & lucky winner of the trip to the World Championships in Nevada! Rounding out the podium next to Ethan was Switzerland’s Dani Reinhartin in 2nd (also crowned the N1SCO SUP European Champion) and Germany’s Arnd Duenzinger in 3rd.

Birthday girl, Manca Notar (Slovenia), also reigned supreme by being the fastest woman on the water in all disciplines, taking 1st overall in the Women’s division and 4th overall in the Men’s division. Closing out 2nd place was Petra Offermanns (Germany) and in 3rd place, Sigrid Baumgartner (Austria). Way to represent ladies!

In the Team Sprint race, 10 teams of 4 paddlers each fought hard for the victory – in the end, it was Naish Switzerland who ousted the competition, leaving 2nd place to No Coast Paddlers and 3rd to team Nayana.

Amazing job to all participants who ventured out to St. Moritz Lake this weekend! The event was incredibly fun & full of endless laughs, smiles and great sportsmanship.

If you couldn’t make it to St. Moritz, Switzerland this weekend to compete, don’t worry! The N1SCO World Championships are right around the corner from October 12-13th at Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, Nevada!
